Duval Libraries to host full moon viewing
The Duval County - San Diego Public Library invites the public to view the Full Wolf Moon through high powered telescopes at the Duval County - San Diego Public Library Saturday, January 26, 2013.
A "Wolf Moon," according to farmersalmanac.com, is the name Native Americans gave to the first full moon in January. The wolf packs would howl hungrily outside the villages amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, thus the name.
The Corpus Christi Astronomical Society will provide the telescopes and skillful expertise on viewing the night sky. Spend an evening exploring the full moon which will start at 7 p.m. at the main library located at 315 S. Dr. Dunlap St. in San Diego, Texas.
