6/13/2014 10:47:00 AM Heras arrested after assaulting woman, damaging two vehicles
Samantha Heras was arrested for Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit other Felony, and two counts of Criminal Mischief over $50 at 4:51 a.m. Friday, June 13, in the 400 block of East Fourth Street, by Alice Police Officer Martin Suarez.
According to reports, Officer Suarez was dispatched to the residence in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, Officer Suarez spoke with a woman who alleged she was assaulted by Samantha Morgan Heras, 25.
The victim reported that she was in a bedroom with a male friend when Heras barged in and began banging on the door. Heras then allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair and began punching her repeatedly in the face. She reported that Heras then dragged her around the home, knocking over furniture while assaulting her.
According to the report, Heras was forced out of the home by two men. The victim then reportedly heard yelling and looked outside, just in time to witness Heras strike her car with a pink baseball bat. Again one of the men allegedly forced Heras into a vehicle and drove her home.
Officer Suarez reported the victim had several marks on her face, as well as bruising, which was photographed for evidence.
The report indicates that Heras allegedly broke both taillights on a Ford F150 then ran and struck the victims car.
Officer Suarez spoke with the two men and one woman who witnessed the incident. After further investigation, Officer Suarez reported that Heras was told to leave the residence before she began assaulting the woman.
Jim Wells County Sheriff's Deputy Sgt. Salvador Garza reportedly made contact with Heras at her residence in the 900 block of Range St. APD Officer Rene Garcia made contact with Heras and placed her under arrest. She was transported to the JWC Jail.
